 YE OLDE INNE - Roborough Tel 01805 603247 - Ye Olde Inne is one of our favorites. It is a small country pub in the nearby village of Roborough. Here you can be sure of a warm welcome and the food they serve in their small restaurant is excellent. It is also very reasonably priced. Sorry, no children under 8 years. This one of our favorites when we are spending our own money.

THE DUKE OF YORK - Iddesleigh, Winkleigh 01837 810253 - The Duke of York is a country pub hidden in the village of Iddesleigh. Nice atmosphere, seriously good food but booking is advised.

 

 THE OLD GEORGE - High Bickington Tel 01769 560513 is - The Old George - in the centre of the village of High Bickington. Here you can be sure of a warm welcome and the food they serve in their small restaurant is excellent. It is also very reasonably priced. Children welcome.

 

 KINGS ARMS - Winkleigh Tel 01837 83384 Steve Kinsley had been working as head chef for thee years in a prestigious Caribbean hotel when he and his wife decided to settle in North Devon. They have run the Kings Arms for quite a few years and have strived to build up an excellent reputation with visitors and local people. This traditional 16th century pub offers a wonderful candle lit a la carte restaurant and bar meals. The home produced food is described as classical with a modern twist and as the first ever winner of North Devon's Best Pub Food Award, a visit is a must. Highly commended in Pub Food Awards 1999.

Whether you are touring the beautiful North Devon countryside or visiting the market, the friendly staff at The George will provide you with the best atmosphere in which to enjoy the best in home cooked local food and ales. 3rd place in the Pub Food Awards 1999 

 

 FOX & GOOSE INN - Parracombe Tel 01598 763239 Parracombe, being an un-spoilt village on the edge of Exmoor, makes the Fox & Goose an ideal lunch or evening destination. Menu specialties include fresh fish and game, Sunday roast, prime steaks, home made pies and deserts. So if you're thinking of somewhere different....think of the Fox & Goose. 2nd place in the Pub Food Awards 1999

 

 CHICHESTER ARMS - Mortehoe Tel 01271 870411  Situated next to the church in the pretty village of Mortehoe near Woolacombe, this unique 16th century pub is gas lit and once was the old vicarage! The Chichester arms offer a variety of real ales, cider, foreign beers, ample parking, beer garden and outside terrace. Specialising in fresh seafood, steaks, roast meats, and fresh vegetables all cooked to order, a visit is most definitely worthwhile. Highly commended in Pub Food Awards 1999.
